General Ophthalmologist

We are seeking a General Ophthalmologist to join our Ophthalmology Department. The successful candidate will assess and diagnose patients, manage ophthalmic conditions, provide treatment and investigations, and refer cases for subspecialty care when required.

• Assess and examine patients to establish accurate diagnoses.
• Manage ophthalmic conditions, order investigations and provide appropriate treatment.
• Refer patients to the relevant ophthalmic subspecialty when needed.
• Manage a general ophthalmology outpatient clinic.
• Work collaboratively with optometrists, orthoptists, ophthalmic technicians and nurses.
• Operate ophthalmic equipment, including ophthalmoscopes, slit lamps and lenses.
• Communicate with empathy and educate patients and families about medical conditions and care plans.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
• Participate in lectures, meetings, seminars and clinical education activities.
• Maintain current clinical expertise through continuing medical education.
• Provide on-call coverage according to the approved schedule.
• Deliver care in accordance with MOH regulations and applicable national and international standards.

Healthcare, other

• Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.
• Master’s Degree in Ophthalmology or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification.
• Full, unrestricted professional license in the country or state of origin.
• Knowledge of national and international healthcare accreditation standards.
• Strong clinical judgment, patient communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
